Hoy Wins BBC Sports Personality of the Year Chris Hoy being awarded the BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2008 is a big boost for minority participation sport in Scotland, and other sports like Canoeing will surely benefit if we seize this opportunity to co-operate with Cycling and the critical mass of Hoy's Golds and David Florence's Silver. If Edinburgh can rediscover "Men of Power and Vision" for the 21st Centuary as it did once before in the 18thC and 19thC, then surely something permanent can be achieved. The Commonwealth Pool and in Particular, Meadowbank are by modern standards second-rate, but the result has been a great swim team and a Collossus of World Sport in Chris Hoy. He is the most successful UK Olympian for 100 years.
FCC PHS Pool Sessions Sessions restarted as of Fri 5th December and will carry on as usual. Half-Season Ticket-Holders have had 2 sessions refunded from Paypal.
